Topic: PS4 deactivated as Master

So a few weeks ago my PS4 was somehow deactivated every bit my Primary console, and I tin can't change it dorsum to Primary. I tried on the panel itself, however that did not work. I then logged in online and attempted to deactivate all other devices on their website, but I get an error stating I can't employ this "characteristic", as I already used information technology within the last half-dozen months (which is a total crock; I have never once done so!). I have never owned another PS4 console, nor have I ever signed in on anyone else'south panel. I have also never provided my sign in info to anyone.
I finally managed to speak to a rep online last night, and she stated in that location was absolutely nothing she could do, as when she tried to deactivate on her finish she received the same message I did. She went on to say this phantom console was activated as my Principal on April 4th, but she tin't provide further info than that.
I'chiliad at a loss here. My kids take their own profiles, however are now unable to use their profiles to admission the thousands of dollars of downloaded content , equally they're all locked to them now, including their game saves.
This may not a big deal to some, but it is to me, and the fact Sony obviously has no other solution simply for me to expect till October before I can fifty-fifty attempt reactivating my console as Primary is admittedly ridiculous!
I was given a mailing address for consumer affairs and told to escalate my complaint there.
Anyone else experience this?

@Ryall No. I've never logged in to anyone elses console and have never shared my sign-in info either.

@AllenSnyder Cheers for the share Perhaps I demand to direct up say I desire to deal with a manager? I asked the agent via conversation yesterday how this could exist escalated, and she said it couldn't exist washed. And then I asked how I could file a complaint, and she replied by giving me the mailing address for consumer affairs, then said I take to write a letter to entreatment the fact I can't reactivate my i and merely panel, despite the fact I never deactivated it in the outset identify. Ridiculous..

Quick update....tried my luck with customer support again, and got nowhere. Dealt with a supervisor as well, and she connected to give me the aforementioned copy-paste reply that they could not perform the deactivation, just that I'm entitled to do it every 6 months. Frustrating to say the least.
I asked nearly this class others have filled out to resolve the issue, simply no dice patently? Sooooo back to sending a complaint to consumer affairs

You probably aren't going to get anywhere with Sony at the moment since they are shutdown due to the quarantine. Yous are just going to have to wait till it's over and contact Sony then.

@lernien I practise, yes, notwithstanding I merely enabled that when I found out my console had been deactivated as Primary. A little too late I guess, but at least I have it enabled at present.

@Bamila Lol, I don't click on random links chum. I don't take messages from people either unless they're in my friends listing, nor do I care most getting messages from girls that think I'one thousand hot. I couldn't care less 😂

Unfortunately information technology sounds as if somehow another person has got your log in details. The remote deactivation tin only be done once every six months as y'all say, which ways this was not done from your master PS4, but by someone online. If y'all use the same email/passsword for other websites or accounts, then it may of come from that. I'thousand not sure changing your password etc would assistance at this stage, every bit the other console would nonetheless be the primary console. I retrieve your only option is to expect for Sony support. At least they will be able to tell you lot when and what country information technology was washed. They will also be able to remove information technology for y'all.

@HeeHo - I wish I had better news for you. I contacted PlayStation support a couple of times through their online back up, and was told both times there was nothing they could practise, and that I would accept to wait the half dozen calendar month period earlier I could use the characteristic on the PlayStation website to deactivate all devices.
I ended upward speaking to a supervisor both times, and also requested a course that I had read about online that would apparently help, merely no dice. They told me there was no such form and that I'd have to wait.
Their support is hit and miss too. The first fourth dimension I spoke to an agent, she was able to tell me the date my PS4 had been deactivated, and so that at least let me know when the half dozen month BS waiting period would be over. When I reached out the second time (to confirm that date so I could be sure what appointment I could become my system reactivated as primary), the agent said she didn't take that information available. Very frustrating.
Anyways I was pretty sure October sixth was the 6 month period, and it was, so I was finally able to go my system reactivated as master.
It was a very crappy experience. I still have no idea how that happened, because I accept never given my login info to anyone...I take also never signed in to another PlayStation.
Lesson learned...ii factor authentication; activate that shyt boys, girls, and others! I'm sure if I had 2 factor hallmark set up upwards, I wouldn't have gone through this. Yous can bet I ready that up equally before long as I caught current of air of the situation back in April!

I put two cistron on now also so I hope that helps.
